Chinese telecom giant Huawei told Reuters on Tuesday (November 22nd) that a source close to the company has separated its corporate division in Russia and Belarus from other CIS countries.

The Russian newspaper Vedomosti first reported the movement by citing sources. Other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, consisting of former Soviet republics, will now come under the control of Huawei’s office in Bahrain.

A source told Reuters that work has begun to make the change and that the new regulation will officially become operational in early 2023.

Huawei did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In September, Vedomosti reported that Huawei moved some of its employees from Russia to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
