HarmonyOS Star River Connect App Launches on Apple App Store for Cross-Platform File Sharing

IT Home reports that HarmonyOS Star River Connect has officially launched on the Apple App Store. This marks the first time that Huawei devices running HarmonyOS 6.0 and later can directly exchange data such as contact lists, images, videos, and files with iPhone or iPad users.

The app’s main functions include:

  • Device Search: Users on iOS devices can discover Huawei devices running HarmonyOS 6.0 or higher versions.
  • Data Transfer: The app facilitates the transmission of data such as contact lists, images, and videos between Huawei devices and Apple products.
  • Device Information: Displays device model information and allows users to set application avatars.
  • Transmission Records: Users can view both sent and received files through the app.
  • Support & Feedback: Offers guidance on how to use the application and a channel for user feedback.

In addition, IT Home notes that Apple’s Live Photos feature is compatible with HarmonyOS devices. Both iPhone’s live photos can be viewed on Huawei devices and vice versa.

The official announcement at HarmonyOS 6’s special event indicated that this version of the operating system supports cross-platform file transfer with iOS/iPadOS/macOS, suggesting potential support for macOS in the future.
