Huawei Unveils New Features for Mate 80 Series Ahead of Upcoming Event

Huawei has revealed a new feature called the Outdoor Mode for its upcoming Mate 80 series during an event in China scheduled for November 25. According to Huawei, this mode is designed to provide up to two weeks of battery life on a single charge, making it highly useful in environments with limited access to electricity.

The company disclosed this information through a short video posted on Weibo. Huawei notes that the Outdoor Mode optimizes system resources aggressively and limits background tasks to minimize power consumption as much as possible. This feature is expected to cater particularly well to outdoor activities like camping, hiking, or extended travel where charging options may be scarce.

In addition to the new Outdoor Mode, the Mate 80 series will also boast Kirin processors, support for 100W fast charging, and an advanced cooling system. However, Huawei’s decision not to provide Android app support in international markets might continue to limit device functionality for users outside of China.

The event on November 25 is expected to showcase more than just the Mate 80 series; it will also introduce a new foldable model called Mate X7 and the MatePad Edge tablet. These announcements are part of Huawei’s ongoing efforts to innovate in multiple device categories, aiming to maintain its competitive edge in a challenging market environment.
