Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 Launches in China with Satellite Messaging and Diving Technologies

Huawei has made its latest smartwatch model, the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, available to users in China. The device boasts several standout features such as satellite voice messaging, advanced underwater communication capabilities, and enhanced artificial intelligence functions based on HarmonyOS.

The Watch Ultimate 2 was unveiled globally on September 19th, and its launch in China is set for November 28th. One notable difference between the Chinese version and the global model is that it offers a unique satellite voice messaging feature using Beidou, which compresses messages to highly efficient levels through an advanced audio coding algorithm.

The smartwatch features a zirconium-based liquid metal alloy case, sapphire glass, and ceramic frame for both aesthetic appeal and robustness. It comes in two color options: black and blue. The Watch Ultimate 2 also has an octagonal exterior bezel design and uses titanium straps with wave-patterned fluoroelastomer material.

A new X-Tap sensor between the dual crown buttons allows users to access health data with just one tap, providing quick and easy navigation during measurements or activities. Additionally, it features a 1.5-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with up to 3500 nits of brightness for enhanced readability in sunlight.

The Chinese model’s black version has a case diameter of 48.5 mm and the blue variant measures 47.8 mm, both weighing 80.5 grams. The strap lengths range from 140 mm to 210 mm, ensuring good fit for both male and female users.

The Watch Ultimate 2 also introduces new diving features and underwater communication technologies, greatly expanding its functionality in professional settings compared to previous models. It supports up to 150 meters of water resistance and comes equipped with a sonar-based underwater messaging system that can send messages to up to 50 contacts during dives.

The special acoustic transducer used has a thickness of just 0.25 mm, converting electrical signals into sound waves via piezoelectric effects. In addition, it includes an SOS signal function capable of operating up to 30 meters deep in water. The watch supports different diving modes such as free, technical, and sportive, offering customizable experiences tailored to user preferences.
