Huawei Kirin 9030 Processor Enters Testing Phase for Mate 80 Series

Huawei’s upcoming Kirin 9030 processor is now in the testing phase and is expected to be showcased during a Chinese event on November 25th. The flagship Mate 80 series, which will feature this new chip, has preliminary benchmark results published on Geekbench, giving us an early look at its architecture and performance metrics.

The Kirin 9030 processor boasts a unique core configuration of one high-performance core running at 2.75 GHz, four cores operating at 2.27 GHz, and another four cores functioning at 1.72 GHz, making up the total nine-core CPU architecture. Additionally, it will be equipped with the Mali-G935 GPU for graphical processing tasks.

Initial performance benchmarks from a test device believed to be the Mate 80 Pro Max model revealed scores of 1,131 in single-core tests and 4,277 in multi-core tests. However, a leak source indicated that during testing, the processor did not operate at its maximum frequency, implying these results might not fully represent final performance.

Comparing to previous models like the Kirin 9020, with its distinct core setup including one high-performance core, three medium cores, and four efficiency cores alongside the Mali-G920 GPU, the new Kirin 9030 aims for a noticeable improvement in multi-core performance.

The detailed technical specifications and definitive performance data of the Kirin 9030 will be officially announced at Huawei’s upcoming event where the Mate 80 series will make its debut. Stay tuned for more updates!
