Huawei has started leaking details about its upcoming smartphone series, the Huawei Nova 15. According to Digital Chat Station, a reliable source on Weibo, the Nova 15 lineup will include three models: the standard Nova 15, the Pro variant, and the Ultra edition.
The tech specs of these devices are yet to be officially confirmed by Huawei. However, leaks suggest that all models in this series will come with impressive hardware, particularly focusing on their display and camera setups. The base model is expected to feature a 6.7-inch screen, while the Nova 15 Pro is rumored to have a slightly larger 6.84-inch panel.
Both models are anticipated to offer an LTPO OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution for better visual clarity and power efficiency. The Pro version may include dual front cameras consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary unit, which could significantly enhance its selfie performance compared to the standard Nova 15 that might have only a single 50MP front camera.
On the back, all models are expected to incorporate Huawei’s latest multi-spectral sensor alongside a 50MP main lens, periscope telephoto lens, and ultra-wide-angle camera. This advanced setup aims at improving image quality in various lighting conditions.
The processor details show that both the standard Nova 15 and Pro models are slated to use Huawei’s new Kirin 8 series chipsets. The top-tier Ultra model will allegedly feature a more powerful Kirin 9 chipset, which is crucial for performance-oriented users. Additionally, all models in this series may house batteries exceeding 6000 mAh capacity.
Huawei’s continued use of its own Kirin processors, despite U.S. sanctions, highlights the importance of these chips to the Chinese market and Huawei’s ability to innovate independently.
