According to a recent report from Jiemian, Zhao Changjiang, former head of sales for BYD’s premium Denza brand, has joined Huawei-backed Luxeed as its marketing general manager. Zhao, who graduated university in 2009 and quickly rose through the ranks at BYD, shared on Weibo that he is currently still on a break without denying the report.
Zhao’s career with BYD saw him leading the launch of multiple Denza models and contributing significantly to its sales growth. He played a pivotal role in the relaunch of the Denza brand in 2022, overseeing marketing efforts for vehicles such as the D9 MPV, which has been Denza’s primary model ever since.
LuXeed is part of Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) and was recently bolstered with a RMB 10 billion investment to enhance its technological leadership. The brand aims to expand its research and development team to over 5,000 personnel, focusing on strengthening Luxeed’s market position.
Zhao’s move to Luxeed marks another significant collaboration between Chinese tech giants Huawei and automotive players such as Chery Automotive, signaling the expanding influence of technology in the automobile industry.
