Huawei has commenced the public beta program for HarmonyOS 6, following its initial announcement in June. The update introduces a redesigned user interface incorporating fresh animations, expanded lock screen personalization options, enhanced system responsiveness, and a suite of artificial intelligence capabilities. A notable addition is XiaoYi, a new AI-powered personal assistant designed to provide tailored information and execute tasks independently.
The company has published a comprehensive list of supported devices for this beta release, though it’s currently limited to mainland China. Interested users must enroll in the beta program through the My Huawei application. Furthermore, Huawei confirmed the commencement of a closed beta test later this month.
While acknowledging the limitations for users outside of China due to the system’s architecture, the update represents a significant advancement for Huawei’s operating system.
