An image showcasing the striking similarity in designs between Honor's upcoming Power 2 and Apple's iPhone 17 Pro.
Honor is gearing up to launch its latest mid-range performance phone, the Honor Power 2, next month in China. The main headline isn’t just about its specs but how closely it resembles Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro.
A Weibo tipster named Panda is Bald recently shared an image of the upcoming device, revealing that Honor Power 2 takes design cues directly from its American counterpart. The phone features a panned camera module housing three lenses in Apple’s iconic style and includes an LED cutout on the left side, just like the iPhone 17 Pro.
The main talking point here is clearly not how well it performs but rather how closely it mimics another brand’s design language. It’s clear that Chinese manufacturers continue to draw inspiration from Apple, a trend we’ve seen in recent releases such as Xiaomi’s latest model too.
Despite the imitation, Honor Power 2 does offer decent specs for its price point. The device will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8500 coupled with 12GB of RAM and run on Android 16-based Magic OS 10. It comes equipped with a massive 10,080mAh battery and boasts a 6.79-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K.
The rear camera setup leads with a 50MP primary lens, while the front-facing camera has a resolution of 16MP. Colors available include Orange, Black, and White, with Orange apparently being the hero shade reminiscent of the new Pro iPhones.
While the design imitation is quite evident, Honor Power 2 still provides a compelling package for those looking at a mid-range Android device in China. The phone is set to be exclusive to the Chinese market initially, but it could attract attention from consumers who enjoy the familiar look of an iPhone without the hefty price tag.
The phone closely resembles Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro, featuring a similar camera setup and color options.
Yes, it includes a large 10,080mAh battery and runs on Android 16-based Magic OS 10 with MediaTek Dimensity 8500.
The phone is set for release in China next month, January 2025.
