Honor Reveals Prototype of AI-Driven ‘Robot Phone’ Ahead of MWC 2025

Honor unveiled a prototype for its AI-driven concept device called the Robot Phone at an early showcase during the Honor User Carnival in China. The company had previously hinted at this ambitious project, which is part of their Alpha Plan initiative launched in October.

The prototype features a unique gimbal camera system that can be extended and retracted, giving it a distinctive look similar to Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro. In promotional materials, the Robot Phone was depicted as an anthropomorphic device with emotions displayed through its motor assembly, resembling themes from Disney animations but with more existential undertones.

The prototype currently lacks the Alpha Plan logo seen in earlier promotional assets, possibly due to concerns about similarity to Sony’s recognizable branding. The device is available in black, white, and gold variants, each featuring either a faux leather or glass rear panel depending on colorway choices.

Details regarding an official release date remain scarce as Honor has yet to provide further information beyond the recent unveiling. Interested consumers will have to wait for additional teasers throughout 2026 before learning more about this innovative concept.
