Honor Unveils 500 and 500 Pro with Snapdragon Chips and 200MP Camera

Honor has unveiled its latest smartphones, the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro, in China. These devices aim to provide high performance, long-lasting battery life, and a superior visual experience within a sleek design.

The Honor 500 and 500 Pro both sport a 6.55-inch flat AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2736×1264 pixels, boasting a pixel density of 460 PPI. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and features 10-bit color depth, reaching peak brightness levels of 6000 nits. Both models incorporate Honor’s second-generation Motion Blur Relief Display tech for clearer visuals when in motion.

Under the hood, the standard Honor 500 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor built on a 4nm process, whereas the Pro variant gets an upgrade to the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite platform fabricated using 3nm technology. Both devices come with Android 16-based MagicOS 10.0 and support Honor’s Phantom Engine for smooth gaming performance.

The camera setup includes a primary 200MP lens with a large 1/1.4-inch CMOS sensor, making it the largest in its category at this price point. The Pro model also includes an additional 50MP telephoto lens with optical image stabilization for enhanced portrait photography. Front-facing cameras include a 50MP unit capable of capturing 4K videos and featuring a dedicated 3D depth camera.

Both devices boast an impressive 8000mAh battery, which Honor claims is the largest in their range while keeping the profile slim at just 7.75mm thick. Charging options include 80W wired fast charging, reverse charging at up to 27W, and wireless charging of up to 50W for Pro models only.

Other features include dust and water resistance ratings (IP68/IP69K), ultrasonic or optical fingerprint sensors on the Pro and regular models respectively. The Honor 500 series will be available in four colors: Moonlight Silver, Ocean Blue, Starlight Pink, and Obsidian Black.

Pricing starts at ¥2,699 for the Honor 500 with 12GB + 256GB storage and goes up to ¥4,799 for the Pro variant with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Pre-orders begin on November 27.
