Huawei HiSilicon dropped to sixth place

According to the latest statistics from Counterpoint, Huawei’s HiSilicon processor has dropped from its original third position in the world to its sixth position in the world. Huawei is the only manufacturer with real power in self-developed SoC chips. However, numerous sanctions by the United States continue to push Huawei into the Chinese market.

Affected Huawei HiSilicon chips can no longer be produced as TSMC’s foundry is limited. Although Huawei has mastered its chip design capabilities, it is truly helpless that it does not have the support of China’s leading semiconductor foundry.

Without the chip, Huawei’s mobile phone business has naturally been significantly affected. The market share of mobile phones fell and the share of processors fell from 16% to 3% in the second quarter of 2020.

However, MediaTek, which attracted a lot of attention in this list, became the world’s number one manufacturer in the third quarter of 2020, surpassing Qualcomm once again in the second quarter of this year, and became the manufacturer with the highest processor share. It reached an astonishing 38%.
