As the foldable smartphone market expands rapidly, Huawei is pushing forward with unique designs that set its products apart. The Pura series introduced a distinctive wide-screen vertical form factor that resembles a mini-tablet and has garnered significant attention for its innovative approach.
Recently, tipster Smart Pikachu shared details about the upcoming Huawei Pura X2 on Weibo. According to these leaks, the new model is expected to launch sometime between January and March 2026, marking its debut in the first quarter of next year. The internal testing phase for the device indicates that it will feature a larger internal screen compared to its predecessor.
One of the most notable features of the Pura X2 is the Kirin 9030 chipset. This processor upgrade follows Huawei’s successful implementation in the Mate 80 Pro series, suggesting significant enhancements in performance, multitasking capabilities, and power efficiency. The new chip will ensure a smoother tablet-like experience for users.
Earlier this year, the Pura X model made waves with its innovative design that includes a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a unique 16:10 aspect ratio and a smaller external screen of 3.5 inches, ideal for basic interactions when folded. The camera system in the previous version was also impressive, featuring a triple-lens setup comprising a 50MP main sensor, a 40MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto module with 3.5x optical zoom.
