Huawei is gearing up for the release of its next foldable phone, the Pura X2, expected to debut with a larger screen compared to its predecessor. According to recent leaks from Digital Chat Station, Huawei plans to increase the display size on their upcoming Pura series foldable model.

Larger Display Dimensions

The new device might feature an even wider screen panel, potentially making it the world’s first ‘wide-screened’ clamshell foldable phone. Sources reveal that a 7.6 to 7.7-inch display panel is currently being tested in early engineering stages by BOE. This would mean the Pura X2 could offer a larger body compared to its first-generation counterpart, which had a 6.3-inch main screen and a 3.5-inch cover screen.

Release Date Update

The release date of the Huawei Pura X2 has also seen some changes. Initially slated for March 2026, it may now be postponed to the second quarter of that year. The company previously launched its first Pura X model in March last year, so a similar timeline was anticipated this time around. However, Huawei’s work on a special ‘Premium Edition’ version might have influenced this delay.

Huawei could also release another foldable phone variant in January 2026, aiming for a clear price differentiation between the two models.
