On November 25, 2025, Huawei launched its new Mate 80 series in China. The lineup includes four models: the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and a limited edition RS Master version designed in collaboration with Porsche.
The flagship model, the Mate 80 Pro Max, is equipped with the Kirin 9030 chipset which Huawei claims to be approximately 20% more energy-efficient than its predecessor. The phone features up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage capacity. It also boasts a 6.82-inch AMOLED LTPO display with variable refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 144Hz, achieving peak brightness of 2800 nits at a resolution of 15K.
Another highlight is the Kunlun Glass 3.0 which Huawei claims offers almost double the durability compared to previous versions. The Mate 80 Pro Max also includes a new XMAGE Ultra Vision camera system with a primary 50-megapixel lens, variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0, and an ultra-wide-angle lens of 48 megapixels along with a periscope telephoto lens supporting five times optical zoom.
The battery has a capacity of 5500 mAh and supports both wired charging at up to 100 watts and wireless charging at up to 80 watts. According to Huawei, the device can reach an 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
The exclusive Porsche Design Edition (Mate 80 RS Master) features a ceramic body available in Obsidian Black or Starry Blue. It comes with the same technical specifications as the Pro Max model and includes customized symbols, packaging, and user interface elements to offer an even more luxurious experience for collectors and high-end customers.
Pricing starts at around €699 for the base model and goes up to €1587 for the RS Master edition. While international market entry is likely, exact release dates have not yet been announced with observers predicting a launch in mid-2026.
