Huawei's latest flagship smartphone series, featuring the powerful Kirin 9030 chipset.
The newly released Huawei Mate 80 series includes the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, and Mate 80 Pro Max models, each equipped with an advanced Kirin 9030 or Kirin 9030 Pro processor. The lineup is notable for its IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, providing durability in various environments.
Each model features a unique aesthetic design, such as the circular ring at the bottom that enables wireless charging and a distinctive micro-pattern finish on the back cover that highlights the ‘Mate’ logo. The Mate 80 Pro Max offers four color options: Midnight Black, Polar Silver, Aurora Blue, and Dusk Gold. Meanwhile, the Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro come in Obsidian Black, Snowy White, Dawn Golden, and Pine Green.
These devices boast a full metal body design with a 2.5D screen that supports variable refresh rates up to 120Hz, enhancing user experience significantly. The Mate 80 Pro Max also includes dual-layer OLED screens capable of reaching an impressive brightness level of 8000 nits under low light conditions and 4500 nits at 20% window illumination, ensuring clarity even in bright sunlight while maintaining energy efficiency.
The new devices are pre-installed with HarmonyOS 6, which significantly enhances overall performance. Compared to the previous generation, the Mate 80 series offers a noticeable improvement of up to 35%, and the Mate 80 Pro Max sees an increase of over 42% due to its enhanced cooling system.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the second-generation Maple Red Film color imaging system with improved color reproduction, coupled with high-resolution cameras: the Mate 80 has a main camera that can adjust aperture size and supports OIS; the Pro models include long-range zoom lenses with optical image stabilization as well. Additionally, the Pro Max model adds an ultra-wide angle lens to its arsenal.
Other notable features include support for 3D facial recognition technology, real-time data processing capabilities boosted by up to 100% through a ninth-generation ISP, and improved wireless streaming experience with HiPlay technology. The devices also come equipped with enhanced satellite communication capabilities, enabling seamless connectivity even in remote areas.
