Huawei Unveils Soft AI Robot Smart Hanhan – Features and Price Revealed

Huawei recently introduced a new product in their lineup, the soft AI robot named Smart Hanhan. The product features a plush design that combines silicone and plastic components for a comfortable tactile experience while maintaining realistic character elements. At a price of $56, Smart Hanhan comes with three color options but quickly sold out due to high demand.

The increasing popularity of artificial intelligence tools over the past few years has significantly boosted interest in physical robots as well. In response to this trend, Huawei made its latest move by unveiling Smart Hanhan at their recent event where they also launched the Mate 80 series smartphones. This emotional companion robot boasts a soft exterior and an array of interactive features powered by Huawei’s Xiaoyi AI model.

Smart Hanhan is designed with dimensions of 80 x 68 x 82 mm and weighs only 140 grams (excluding arms). It supports natural speech recognition, emotional understanding, tone detection, and context awareness. The robot also reacts to touch and motion inputs; for example, touching its head or petting it can trigger facial expressions changes.

The device is powered by a 1800 mAh battery that allows up to 6-8 hours of continuous use or over 48 hours under normal conditions. It takes approximately six hours to fully charge the unit. Additionally, Smart Hanhan is compatible with HarmonyOS 5 and above for seamless integration.

Users can connect their smartphones to Smart Hanhan to access various features such as a digital diary system, recording past conversations and interactions, all of which are stored for review on the phone. The robot aims to provide comprehensive emotional support and companionship.
