Huawei’s Kirin 9030 Powers New Mate 80 Flagship Phones

Huawei Technologies unveiled on Tuesday that its latest Kirin 9030 processor is the powerhouse behind the advanced models of the new Mate 80 series smartphones, which are designed to offer premium performance in the 5G market.

The Shenzhen-based tech giant revealed that the 12GB RAM version of the Mate 80 Pro uses the Kirin 9030 processor, while the 16GB RAM variant of the Mate 80 Pro, along with its Max and RS versions, are equipped with the upgraded Kirin 9030 Pro. The basic model of the Mate 80 series continues to use the older Kirin 9020 chip.

At the product launch event, Richard Yu Chengdong, Chairman of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group, emphasized that the performance improvement in the Mate 80 Pro and Pro Max models is a staggering 42% compared to last year’s Mate 70 Pro+ model. Additionally, he stated that the Mate 80 Pro with Kirin 9030 achieved a 35% better performance when matched against the Mate 70 Pro.

However, Huawei did not provide further technical details about the Kirin 9030 processor beyond its application in these high-end models. The launch event showcased several variants of the new flagship devices, highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation and superior user experience.
