Huawei announced that it cannot produce Kirin processors

Due to the US ban, Huawei halts production of Kirin processors. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said, “As of September 15, we will no longer be able to produce Kirin processors. Artificial intelligence chips will not be produced either. This is a huge problem for us. ” said.

Huawei can design Kirin chipsets itself, but it requires US companies for production. The Mate 40 model may be the last phone to use the HiSilicon Kirin chipset.

Semiconductor manufacturers using American technologies cannot obtain a license to work with Huawei. The world’s largest semiconductor manufacturer TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.) announced that it will not produce Huawei HiSilicon architecture to comply with the US rule. Due to US companies, Huawei will not be able to produce Kirin after September 15th.
