The Glyph interface, a signature feature of Nothing smartphones since the company’s inception three years ago, has been significantly scaled back on the new Nothing Phone (3a) Lite. While the Nothing Phone (3) released this summer features an LED matrix for animated displays, the (3a) Lite utilizes a single notification LED, reminiscent of earlier Android devices.
The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is now available in the UK and Europe, priced at £249 and €249, respectively. Nothing has not announced plans for availability in the US.
Despite the simplified lighting system, the phone retains Nothing’s “signature transparent design” with a glass back available in black or white color options. Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB.
The display is a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2392 x 1084 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, reaching a peak brightness of 3000 nits and a typical brightness of 800 nits. The phone includes a 5,000 mAh battery with support for up to 33W fast charging. The rear camera system consists of a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera, while the front-facing camera is 16MP.
Additional features include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual-SIM 5G support, a fingerprint sensor, and an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance. The device runs Nothing OS 3.5, based on Android 15, and is promised to receive major OS updates for at least three years and security updates for six years.
