## Android 16 Beta Introduces iPhone-Inspired Welcome Screen for Pixel Devices
Google’s latest Android 16 QPR2 Beta 1 release for Pixel phones incorporates a redesigned welcome screen that draws visual similarities to Apple’s iPhone setup. The update, currently available as part of the Android 16 QPR2 Beta program, includes a cycling “Hello” message presented in multiple languages, a design element closely associated with Apple’s onboarding experience. This release accompanies a new Android Canary build and precedes the expected launch of the Pixel 10 series.
The redesigned welcome screen repositions key user interface elements. Emergency call buttons, accessibility options, and language selection have been moved from the initial display to a subsequent screen. This shift appears intended to streamline the user experience, particularly for individuals transitioning from iOS devices.
While initially exclusive to Pixel devices, Google’s design choices offer other Android phone manufacturers (Original Equipment Manufacturers or OEMs) the option to implement a similar welcome screen experience in future software releases. The change reflects ongoing efforts to refine Android’s user interface and broaden its appeal.
