Survey Indicates High Anticipation for OnePlus 15 Compared to Galaxy S26

A recent survey conducted by Android Authority reveals a significant level of excitement surrounding the upcoming OnePlus 15 smartphone, surpassing anticipation for Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series. The poll, which gathered over 4,000 votes, found that 71% of respondents are more hyped for the OnePlus 15 than for any of the Galaxy S26 models.

The OnePlus 15 is expected to feature a 7,300mAh battery, 120W charging, a 165Hz display, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The survey’s results suggest consumers are prioritizing features like battery capacity and charging speed, areas where Samsung has reportedly lagged behind.

While 21% of voters expressed excitement for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the standard S26 and S26 Plus garnered 5% and 3% of the votes, respectively. Several survey participants voiced frustration with Samsung’s approach to battery technology and charging speed, suggesting a shift in strategy is needed. One participant commented, “Every year, people ask for bigger batteries and faster charging. Every year, Samsung gives the same size battery and slow charging… Keep ignoring your customers at your peril, Samsung.”

Rumors surrounding the Galaxy S26 series suggest potential for limited changes, including the possible reuse of camera hardware from the S25 and a modest increase in battery capacity (from 4,000mAh to 4,300mAh) with continued 25W wired charging. Reports of canceled Edge and Pro variants further contribute to a muted level of excitement surrounding the S26 lineup. Although Samsung retains advantages in software experience and ecosystem strength, the survey indicates the OnePlus 15’s features are resonating strongly with consumers, highlighting a need for Samsung to innovate and avoid complacency.
