We can say that Huawei’s new flagship Huawei P50 and Mate 50 models will be Kirin 9000 processor. Due to US bans, it has long been thought that Kirin 9000 will not be used in new flagship phones. Good news for Huawei fans.

The Huawei P50, which is expected to be introduced in March 2021, will have many advanced features such as camera, operating system and processor. It is also likely to introduce the Huawei Mate 50 series. But release dates are not yet known.

Having Kirin 9000 processors in stock, Huawei can also use Kirin 9000 on Huawei Mate X2 foldable smartphones. Although Huawei did not make a definitive official statement, Huawei shared a detail as follows: “We have allocated a large amount of Kirin 9000 stock for our future models under embargo conditions.” Of course, there is no detail in the description. It has not been announced on which phones the Kirin 9000 will use, but it is likely to use it in the new flagship phones P50 and Mate 50 series.

The 5 nm Kirin 9000 processor, which can work with 5G technology, contains 15.3 billion transistors and contains 30% more transistors than other competitive processors. Offering a powerful gaming experience with a Mali-G78 GPU with 24 cores, the Kirin 9000 scares its competitors with its efficiency and performance.

US embargo, Huawei cannot stop. Huawei will start producing processors of its own design.

In November 2020, it was said that the US administration will allow processor manufacturers to sell hardware to Huawei again. However, the USA tried to prevent the sale of processors and asked that the processors to be sold should not be used in 5G infrastructure.

US embargo result; Huawei completed the construction of its factory called “Wuhan Huawei Optical Factory Project (Phase II)” to design and manufacture its own processors. Factory established on an area of 208,900 square meters. It is reported that it is located in “Wuhan Optics Valley Center.” When the factory starts producing processors, it will produce processors that are not affected by embargo.

According to reports, the factory will first produce a 45 nm processor, and a 28 nm processor by the end of 2022. The new processors will also be used in smart TVs, IoT devices and 5G hardware. Cell phone processors will be produced in the following years.

We will soon see processors that will work more efficiently with the Huawei operating system.
