GitHub, owned by Microsoft, has announced Agent HQ, a new hub designed to centralize AI-powered coding agents and assistants developed by various companies. This initiative aims to transform GitHub from a code repository into what it describes as an “AI agent marketplace,” fundamentally changing software development workflows.

Agent HQ serves as a centralized platform enabling developers to discover, access, and manage different AI tools. Previously, developers often relied on single solutions like GitHub’s Copilot or competitor offerings.
