Grammarly Rebrands to Superhuman, Unveils New AI Productivity Platform

Grammarly, the AI-powered writing assistant used by over 40 million people, has undergone a significant transformation, rebranding to Superhuman and unveiling a new suite of AI tools designed to enhance productivity across various work environments. The move unites Grammarly, Coda, and Superhuman Mail under a single “AI-native productivity platform” marking the company’s largest shift in its 16-year history.

“Superhuman represents a fundamental shift in how we think about AI at work,” said Shishir Mehrotra, CEO of the newly renamed company. “The name reflects our belief that AI should amplify human capability, not replace it.” The rebranding signals ambition to compete directly with Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini in the increasingly competitive AI-powered office tool landscape.

At the core of this vision is Superhuman Go, a new AI assistant that proactively helps users by integrating context from over 100 popular apps, including Google Workspace, Outlook, Jira, and Confluence. Go aims to reduce tab-switching and streamline workflows by automatically pulling data from CRMs, summarizing tickets, and even drafting email responses in the user’s preferred tone. During meetings, it can surface previous discussion points and suggest follow-up actions.

The Superhuman Suite encompasses four tools: Grammarly (the writing assistant), Coda (an all-in-one workspace), Superhuman Mail (an intelligent inbox), and Superhuman Go. This unified platform leverages shared data and contextual understanding to deliver personalized recommendations across drafting reports, organizing projects, and client communication. Superhuman has built Go around Connector agents, Grammarly writing agents, and Partner agents from third parties. A Superhuman Agents SDK, currently in closed beta, allows developers to create custom agents for integration with user applications.

Existing users of Grammarly, Coda, and Superhuman Mail will maintain their current plans and gain access to new capabilities at no extra cost until February 1, 2026. Superhuman emphasizes its commitment to user privacy and data control, reiterating that it does not sell user data. The rebrand reflects a shift towards proactive AI designed to anticipate user needs and connect various aspects of modern work.
