HBO Max Implements Third Price Increase in Three Years

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced a price increase for HBO Max, marking the third adjustment since the streaming service’s launch. The changes, revealed on October 21, 2025, follow comments from a senior executive earlier this year suggesting the platform was “way under-priced.”

The updated pricing tiers are:

  • HBO Max Basic With Ads: $10.99/month (up $1) or $109.99/year (up $10)
  • HBO Max Standard: $18.49/month (up $1.50) or $184.99/year (up $15)
  • HBO Max Premium: $22.99/month (up $2) or $229.99/year (up $20)

New subscriptions will reflect these prices immediately. Existing monthly subscribers will receive a 30-day notice prior to the price change, with the increased rate appearing on bills dated on or after November 20, 2025. Annual plan adjustments will occur at the renewal date, also preceded by a 30-day notification.

Previous price adjustments occurred in January 2023 and June 2024. The move aligns with recent price increases from competitors including Disney+, Hulu, Peacock, Apple TV+, and Netflix.
