Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 Sets New Standards for Wireless Premium Audio with NearLink Technology

Huawei has unveiled its latest generation of True-Wireless earbuds, the FreeBuds Pro 5, aiming to establish itself as a leader in the high-end audio segment. Initially introduced for the Chinese market, these earphones combine elegant design with cutting-edge wireless technology and intelligent software to enhance everyday life significantly.

The core feature of the FreeBuds Pro 5 is NearLink technology, which outperforms traditional Bluetooth standards. With the Kirin A3 processor, data rates can reach up to 16 Mbit/s—eight times faster than conventional solutions according to Huawei. This bandwidth allows for the first lossless audio playback at Hi-Fi quality with speeds of up to 4.6 Mbit/s if a compatible smartphone is used. As such, Huawei surpasses established codecs like LDAC and sets new benchmarks in wireless audio.

NearLink also boosts energy efficiency by up to 40 percent, reduces latency, and ensures stable connections through dual-band communication even in heavily frequented environments. Another highlight includes AI-driven noise cancellation using optimized microphones and learning algorithms that dynamically adjust to the environment for an immersive listening experience without unwanted disturbances.

The FreeBuds Pro 5 come with a 60mAh battery per earbud, as well as a charging case featuring a 537mAh capacity. This setup allows up to six hours of playback time with active noise cancellation enabled, which extends to nine hours when ANC is turned off.

In terms of design, the earphones are available in four colors: Snow White, Frost Silver, Earth Gold, and Sky Blue. The blue variant stands out due to its vegan leather case top with a unique 3D structure that resists scratches and dirt. Besides high-quality audio playback, the FreeBuds Pro 5 also support L2HC lossless encoding and multi-scenario recordings, making them suitable for professional applications or meetings.
