Preliminary performance metrics for the Kirin 9030 ahead of its official launch.
Huawei is set to unveil its upcoming Mate 80 series on November 25th in China. Ahead of the launch, the company has shared preliminary benchmark results for the Kirin 9030 processor, which will power the flagship device within this lineup. The Geekbench scores offer insights into the chip’s architecture and initial performance metrics.
The Kirin 9030 processor features a unique nine-core CPU configuration consisting of one high-performance core running at 2.75 GHz, four efficiency cores at 2.27 GHz, and another set of four cores operating at 1.72 GHz for power savings. It also incorporates the Mali-G935 GPU. According to early test results on a Mate 80 Pro Max unit equipped with 16 GB RAM, the single-core performance is rated at 1,131 points while the multi-core score stands at 4,277 points.
However, Digital Chat Station reports that during testing, the chip did not operate at its full frequency, suggesting that these scores do not fully reflect its final performance capabilities. This implies potential for higher scores in subsequent tests. The current data indicates that the Kirin 9030 lags behind Qualcomm and MediaTek’s top-tier mobile processors.
Compared to its predecessor, the Kirin 9020, significant improvements are expected, particularly in multi-core performance. Huawei will provide more concrete performance details and full technical specifications during the Mate 80 series launch event.
