Huawei MatePad Edge Leak Reveals Windows Compatibility and DirectX 11 Support

Huawei’s upcoming tablet, the MatePad Edge, is set to launch on November 25th as a pioneering device running HarmonyOS. According to Weibo tipster UncleKanshan, the tablet boasts an impressive Kirin 9-series PC chip and up to 24GB of RAM, making it stand out in terms of performance capabilities.

The MatePad Edge features a large 14.2-inch display with a resolution of 3120 × 2080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It also includes an impressively thin body at just 6.85mm thick, weighing in at 780 grams with a screen-to-body ratio of 94%, highlighting its sleek design.

Cameras on the MatePad Edge include a 50MP main lens and an 8MP ultra-wide rear camera, while the front is equipped with a 32MP selfie camera without visible notches or bezels. Huawei aims to position this tablet as a hybrid device that can seamlessly switch between HarmonyOS and a Windows environment via compatibility layers, allowing users access to over 300,000 native apps and 13,000 Windows apps.

Moreover, the MatePad Edge supports DirectX 11, enabling it to run popular titles like Warcraft and Red Alert 2 without performance issues. The tablet comes with a detachable keyboard and stylus for professionals who need versatile computing solutions. With a substantial battery capacity of 12,800mAh that supports 140W fast charging, users can expect extended usage times.
