Huawei obtains “quantum switch” technology patents

On January 12, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. issued a patent on “quantum key distribution system, method and equipment” with publication number CN108737083B. Patent content is a quantum key distribution system that helps reduce the complexity and cost of quantum key distribution.

The quantum key distribution system includes a first communication device, a second communication device, a third party system, a first measurement device, and a second measurement device.

The first metering device is configured to generate a first receive response after determining that the receiving location and receiving time of the first photon sent by the first communication device and the receiving location and reception time of the third photon sent by the third party system meet the predetermined pattern. It is configured to generate a second receive response after determining that the receiving location and receiving time of the second photon sent by the third party system and the receiving location and reception time of the fourth photon sent by the third party system meet the predetermined pattern.

The first communication device and the second communication device determine the bit value according to the phase of the photon after receiving the first receive response and the second receive response, respectively, and store the determined bit value as a shared quantum key.
