Huawei Unveils Smart Hanhan: An Emotional AI Companion Toy

Huawei recently introduced a novel addition to its product lineup – the Smart Hanhan, an artificial intelligence-supported plush toy designed for emotional interaction. Launched at the Mate 80 event, this cuddly companion aims to establish a meaningful bond with users.

The Smart Hanhan is crafted from soft plush fabric and silicone materials, making it compact enough to fit comfortably in one’s palm. It weighs just 140 grams, ensuring portability wherever you go. The toy utilizes Huawei’s advanced Xiaoyi AI system, which can detect emotional cues through voice tone changes, allowing for natural and appropriate reactions.

Featuring a long-lasting 1800 mAh battery, the Smart Hanhan provides up to six to eight hours of interactive use in intensive usage scenarios. Under normal conditions, its battery life extends well beyond 48 hours before requiring another charge. To fully recharge it, about six hours are needed.

Owners will need a phone running HarmonyOS 5.0 or later to sync with the toy for optimal performance. The device records daily interactions and stores them in an interactive memory journal on your smartphone. Additionally, a three-month SVIP membership included in the box offers unlimited chat energy.

The Smart Hanhan is now available for purchase in China at 399 Yuan ($56), marking its entry into the market. Various color options were quickly sold out as soon as sales commenced.
