The Maextro S800 sedan, launched earlier this year, is the brand's first model.
Huawei-backed automotive brand Maextro is gearing up for an ambitious launch next year as it plans to introduce several new models to expand its presence in the luxury car market. According to a report by local media outlet 36Kr, Maextro will roll out SUV and MPV models with both standard and long-wheelbase options, each designed to cater to different customer needs.
The SUV model is set to enter the premium segment but will sit below the current flagship S800 sedan in terms of positioning. The MPVs are aimed at family use for the standard version and commercial applications for the extended wheelbase variant, both priced higher than typical models available in China. This strategic move reflects Maextro’s ambition to establish itself as a luxury brand within Huawei’s HIMA alliance.
Maextro debuted its first model, the S800 sedan, earlier this year and has already seen strong market acceptance, with over 5,000 units delivered by October. Richard Yu, executive director at Huawei and chairman of the consumer business group, announced at the Guangzhou Auto Show that Maextro had received more than 18,000 pre-orders for the S800 within a period of just over 100 days.
With these upcoming models, Maextro aims to further solidify its position in China’s luxury car market and expand its brand recognition among premium customers. The new SUV and MPV models will complement the existing S800 sedan lineup and provide consumers with a wider range of options tailored for different preferences.
