OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 15 in China, featuring a 165Hz display and powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The device marks a shift for OnePlus, as it moves away from its long-standing Hasselblad camera partnership in favor of its own LUMO Imaging technology.
The standout feature of the OnePlus 15 is its display, a third-generation “Oriental Screen” from BOE that boasts a 165Hz refresh rate with 1.5K resolution. OnePlus claims this improves response time by 10 milliseconds and display speed by 27%, with support for native 165fps gameplay for popular esports titles. The display meets DisplayMate A++ standards and features hardware-level low blue light, a 1-nit true dark mode, and industry-low flicker.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 delivers a 20% increase in CPU performance, a 35% reduction in CPU power consumption, and a 23% improvement in GPU performance, while reducing energy consumption by 35%. A “Fengchi Gaming Core” optimizes performance for sustained 165fps gameplay. The device also incorporates a new G2 esports network chip, reducing latency by up to 65%, speeding up game updates by 71%, and improving video upload speeds by 42%. A “Glacier Cooling System” featuring an ultra-thin steel vapor chamber manages heat.
The OnePlus 15 is equipped with a 7,300mAh battery supporting 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The device features a 50MP Sony sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 3.5x optical periscope telephoto lens, and ships with ColorOS 16. Pricing starts at 3,999 yuan (approximately $560) in China and will be available from October 28. Configurations range from 12GB + 256GB to 16GB + 1TB.
The device also includes a gyroscope with specifications identical to those used in the PS5 controller, aiming to improve aiming accuracy by 77% and reducing latency by 11%.
