IT Home reports that today marks the start of large-scale updates for Huawei’s HarmonyOS 6.0.0.112 SP12 version, targeting devices such as Pura 80 and Mate 70 series models. Subsequent updates will be rolled out to the Mate 60 series and others.
The update package is approximately 1.75GB in size and includes features like the App Center, batch downloading of original photos from Cloud Photo Album, real-time transcription on the Voice Recorder app, and intelligent summary generation. IT Home has confirmed that this new version also incorporates a hidden feature: the return of the 5×7 desktop layout on mobile devices. This allows for more apps to fit on one screen while offering greater flexibility in desktop customization (Settings → Desktop & Personalization → Desktop Settings → Layout).
On the same day, Huawei’s MatePad series tablets also received the HarmonyOS 6.0.0.112 SP12 update with initial support for devices like the MatePad Pro 12.2-inch and MatePad Pro 13.2-inch models launched in 2025. This upgrade enhances multi-screen collaboration capabilities, bringing back PC-to-device connectivity.
