Today’s tech headlines are dominated by several notable stories from China’s technology sector, including new developments with drone manufacturer DJI and potential upgrades for the upcoming Huawei smartphone lineup.

DJI Dominates Panorama Camera Market

The renowned Chinese company DJI has reportedly taken a commanding lead in the global panorama camera market, capturing an impressive nearly 50% share. This latest achievement follows DJI’s established dominance in the drone and gimbal markets, solidifying its position as a leader across various segments of the tech industry.

Concerns Raised Over Hallo Carpool App Security

A recent report highlights significant security vulnerabilities within the Hallo carpool application’s interface. Users have discovered that it is possible to receive and complete ride-sharing orders without submitting necessary vehicle registration or driver’s license information, raising serious safety concerns.

One user was even able to register a profile with fake credentials and still receive order requests.

The company has not yet responded officially regarding these security breaches, leaving users uncertain about the reliability of their service.

JD.com Internal Changes Stir Speculation

In unrelated news, JD.com is experiencing internal restructuring. A high-ranking executive, Sa Jingping, has reportedly left his position at the retail platform marketing center due to personal reasons.

According to insiders, Jinghai Song has taken over the role previously held by Jingping. This move comes as part of a series of changes that have seen the company’s leadership redefined in recent months.

Rumors Swirl Around Upcoming Huawei Devices

Excitement and speculation are building around the upcoming release of Huawei’s Mate 80 series, with reports suggesting that this latest lineup could feature groundbreaking advancements. Sources indicate there might be a full suite of 3D facial recognition capabilities across all models in the new line.

The system is expected to use entirely homegrown technology for heightened security and reliability.

Amazon Considers Major Workforce Reduction

In stark contrast, Amazon has announced plans to significantly downsize its workforce with a projected reduction of up to 30,000 employees. This move is the largest single round of layoffs by the company in recent history and comes as part of broader adjustments to global economic conditions.

DJI, the world’s largest Drone manufacturer and Drone market leader, was blacklisted in the USA. After the Huawei ban, another major Chinese firm was also banned. So why is DJI banned?

DJI, the leader of the drone market, also produces camera systems and camera apparatus. All of DJI’s products are liked by users and sold a lot. The users who buy and use the most are the US residents.

But the United States Department of Commerce blacklisted DJI, as it did with Huawei. The reason for blacklisting was explained as “DJI provided drones and other technologies to the Chinese government for use in Muslim detention camps in Xinjiang province”. “Enabling widespread human rights abuses in China through malicious genetic detection / collection and analysis or high-tech surveillance,” explains the US DJI company.

Is it because the US loves Muslims, is it because Muslims are persecuted, or is it doing Chinese companies to stop their technology. This should be well researched and considered.

DJI considered this a “disappointment” and said that he has “complete control over the collection, storage and transmission of data.” DJI seems likely to come out of the blacklist with Biden.

DJI will not be able to exchange technology with US technology companies. However, “for now,” DJI-signed drones and other products will continue to be sold and used in the USA.
