Redmi K90 Pro Max with Bose 2.1 Sound System Unveiled

Redmi, the sub‑brand of Xiaomi, introduced the newest member of the K90 line in China. The flagship model, Redmi K90 Pro Max, features a Bose‑co‑designed 2.1 sound system, marking a first for the smartphone market. The launch also included the standard Redmi K90. Samsung Pauses One UI 8 Rollout for Galaxy S23 Series

Samsung has unexpectedly halted the distribution of the One UI 8 software update for its Galaxy S23 lineup, impacting users in Turkey and beyond. The company has not yet released an official explanation for the abrupt pause. Speculation suggests the decision stems from a potential technical incompatibility issue, though Samsung has not confirmed this. While widespread user reports of errors haven't surfaced, the electronics giant appears to be taking a precautionary measure by suspending the update. Individuals who have not yet installed One UI 8 are advised to hold off on the installation pending further notice. The suspended update, based on Android 16, weighed in at approximately 3.3 GB. This package, designed for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra models, initially included the Sep...

The weather disaster database that Trump killed has a new home

The national database on billion-dollar weather and climate disasters has found a new home after the Trump administration decided to ax it earlier this year. Thanks to researchers continuing the work despite a lack of federal support, we can keep the tally going this year — which is already proving to be one of the costliest on record. How Reliable Is The Lucid Air? Here’s What Owners Say

How Reliable Is The Lucid Air? Here's What Owners Say The Lucid Air is a car of extremes. It's arguably one of the most aesthetically pleasing cars to come out this decade, certainly among electric vehicles. It boasts the greatest range out of any EV, with the Grand Touring going an incredible 1,205 km, or 749 miles, on one charge for the Guinness World Record. The "entry" level starts at around $70,000, with the Sapphire Edition scaling up to an eye-watering $249,000 MSRP. This is a top-shelf, understated luxury machine, built for range, smoothness, and an impressive image — basically a Tesla Model S Plaid in a superb-looking designer business suit. It's also one of the least reliable vehicles ever put to market, according to some owners and experts. To put it into perspective, Consumer R...

I removed every ad from Windows 11 and it only took 6 steps

Windows 11 doesn't throw ads in your face the way websites do, but it still slips in promotions across the system. The Start menu can suggest apps you never searched for, the Settings app shows recommended content, and File Explorer occasionally displays a OneDrive banner. I ignored most of it for a long time because it blended in so well that it didn't feel like something I could turn off. Over time, though, I started noticing how often those prompts appeared and got curious about how much of it was built in. I opened the settings just to check, expecting most of it to be hardwired into the system. Instead, I found that most of the ads and suggestions were controlled by simple toggles. I disabled them one by one and was surprised it took only a handful of changes to clear out almost all o...

Samsung halts One UI 8 rollout for Galaxy S23 family

Samsung started rolling out the update to One UI 8 based on Android 16 to the Galaxy S23 devices in late September, around three weeks ago. Everything was going well, until it wasn't. The rollout is currently paused, and it's unclear when it will be resumed, so if you have a handset that's part of that family and haven't received the update yet, chances are you're in for a longer wait than you were expecting. Samsung hasn't revealed why it's taken this step either. There don't seem to be any widespread reports of big issues from people that have installed the update. That said, the company has surely found something that needed fixing and decided to halt the rollout out of an abundance of caution. Hopefully it manages to fix whatever the problem was quickly and the rollout can resume soone...
