Xiaomi Launches Water Purifier with Ice-Making and Heating Capabilities

Xiaomi has released the Mijia Water Purifier Ice-Making Edition, a new water purification system with integrated ice production and hot water dispensing features. The device utilizes a variable frequency ice-making system, capable of producing 5 ice cubes (10 grams each) every 15 minutes in standard mode, or 5 ice cubes (6 grams each) in 10 minutes in fast mode.

The compressor, paired with dual-speed fans, maintains consistent performance while operating at a noise level of 35 dB. The system can store up to 40-50 ice cubes and maintains a 75% efficiency over a five-hour period. The water purification process employs a six-stage RO+GC filtration system, filtering down to 0.0001 microns to remove microplastics, heavy metals, PFAS, and other contaminants. The resulting water quality meets infant drinking water standards and carries multiple safety certifications.

The Mijia purifier features dual water tanks with a combined volume of 6 liters, separating purified and wastewater to prevent backflow and maintain water quality. A final carbon filter uses activated carbon derived from Sri Lankan coconut shells to improve the water’s taste. The device includes a 2100W thin-film heating system capable of heating water in as little as 3 seconds, with temperature adjustment from 40°C to 95°C in 1°C increments.

Users can monitor water quality, filter status, and device settings in real-time via the Mijia app and HyperOS Connect. The unit features a removable 6-liter water tank, a 2-liter purified water container, and a touch control panel with ambient lighting. The desktop design requires no installation; it’s ready to use out of the box. Water efficiency is rated at 76.2%, with a RO filter lifespan of three years and a GC compound filter lifespan of one year. The Xiaomi Mijia Water Purifier Ice-Making Edition is available in China with a retail price of $632, with a launch discount bringing it down to $576.
