Huawei New MatePad Pro Qualcomm Features
2021-06-02         Follow @huaweinewos Tweet to @huaweinewosAt its Harmony conference, Huawei announced the new MatePad Pro equipped with Harmony OS. He released a total of three tablets at the press conference. The 10.8 inch MatePad Pro is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 processor.
On January 19, 2021, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 870 5G mobile platform. The chip was created using TSMC’s 7nm EUV process technology. It is based on Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865 Plus. It uses an enhanced version of Qualcomm’s Kryo 585 CPU. It consists of 3.2GHz super large cores, 3 large 2.42GHz cores and 4 small 1.8GHz cores. The main frequency is higher than 3.1GHz of Snapdragon 865 Plus, which is the highest known frequency under A77 general version architecture. In terms of GPU, Snapdragon 870 still uses Adreno 650 and an external X55 baseband.
“The new Snapdragon 870 is built on the success of the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865 Plus and will further meet the needs of OEMs and the mobile industry,” said Kedar Kondap, VP of Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies at the time. The Snapdragon 870 will help leading terminal manufacturers such as Motorola, Xiaomi, OPPO, OnePlus and iQOO to launch various flagship terminals.”
Equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 chip, Huawei MatePad Pro is all Wifi version; Also, Huawei will launch a series of 4G mobile phone products, including Mate40 Pro, Mate40E, Mate X2 Nova8 Pro with folding screen and so on.
At the end of the press conference, Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Head of Consumer Affairs, said that some early models like the Mate9 and Nova5 will also be upgraded to the Hongmeng system in the future.
