HUAWEI partners Sophia EssaAhmed Foundation to provide ICT Center. To assist school students and teachers with communication and technology skills, HUAWEI Technologies Company Nigeria Limited has partnered with the Sophia EssaAhmed Foundation to provide an Information Communication Technology Lab at Kaduna Capital School in Kaduna State.
Speaking at the commissioning of the project, Kelvin Yang, Executive Vice President of Huawei Technologies Nigeria, applauded the Kaduna State Government for the tremendous support received to bring the project to life, noting that this gesture would go a long way in furthering the cause of science. education is not just in Kaduna State but in Nigeria as a whole.
The ICT Lab has been remodeled and equipped with computers and internet facilities. Also speaking at the event, State Governor Mallam Nasir Al-Rufai and State Education Commissioner Halima Lawal praised the Foundation and Huawei for completing the state government’s efforts to improve the education standard. state.
The governor said that the well-equipped lab will not only help students’ digital knowledge but also help teachers update their digital skills.
The Governor urged the management of the beneficiary school to ensure reasonable use of the renovated laboratory for the advancement of knowledge of both students and teachers. Kaduna State Universal Board of Basic Education (KADSUBEB) Permanent Member, Mubarak Mohammed chairman, who also represents the Board, commended the Foundation and Huawei for their kind gesture, mandating the school management to maintain the facility well. Earlier, the representative of the Foundation, Engr. Abdullahi Tahir Bello said that they encountered a very dilapidated laboratory, which has been completely overhauled and equipped with ICT equipment, including computers and internet facilities.
The laboratory has 20 computers, a backup generator, internet facilities with a one-year data subscription, and a power indicator. In response to the School’s Acting Principal Ms. Janet Samaniya Dada, school board chairman Abubakar Tanko, and SBMC representative, Fatima Bello praised the Foundation and Huawei Company for deeming the school worthy of such a gesture and making good use of the facility.
