Huawei will expand its Cloud services to the global market

Ren Zhengfei said in a statement in November 2020 that the company would turn to Cloud services and move forward by increasing its power in cloud services.

They stated that they will speed up Cloud services due to the US bans, and that Chinese companies will focus on Cloud Services, although not as much as companies such as Alibaba and Amazon, due to the restrictions in the US stock market.

In the statement made, “Our corporate business needs to reduce the battlefield … If our strategy is too broad, we will lose our fighting power.” Companies like Amazon are tech holdings with businesses that span e-commerce, video streaming, and even cloud computing among various other businesses. Unlike these firms, Huawei mostly focused on telecom equipment services and the popular smartphone business.

In China, the Huawei cloud service is heavily used, but not so much in the global market. Huawei needs to offer a cloud service that will make a difference to be used in the global market.
