The results of the US patent ranking were announced, and IBM ranked first and Huawei seventh in the patent ranking. IBM obtained 9,435 patents in the United States last year, according to data from the USPTO Patent and Trademark Office.
In the US patent ranking, Samsung ranked second. Samsung reportedly received 8539 patents, but the figure fell 1%. LG Electronics received 5,112 US patents, up 4% year-on-year, but the total number is quite different from the first two. Canon and Intel ranked fourth and fifth with 3689 and 3284, but their numbers also dropped 9% and 12%.
Sixth place is Raytheon Raytheon, the world’s largest military-industrial complex, whose technical strength cannot be underestimated, with 3,213 patents up 1% last year. Huawei ranked seventh with 3178 patents, up 9% year-on-year. Despite the difficulties, Huawei does not halt its technological progress and continues to apply for patent protection in the United States.
Next up are companies like Microsoft, TSMC, Sony, Apple, Dell, Toyota and GE. Among them, the 22% increase in TSMC is the biggest on this list, and the growth of Apple and Dell is not low.
