Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 critical warning from Google Chrome
2022-12-07         Follow @huaweinewos Tweet to @huaweinewosGoogle Chrome started showing alerts on computers for Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. Chrome extended support will end in January 2023 for Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. The message that appears as a notification at the top of the browser reads: “You will need Windows 10 or later to receive the Google Chrome update. This computer is running Windows 7”
Even if you don’t close the notification, the message appears again when you open Chromium. Update support is up to date. To stay out of critical dangers, you may need to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11 as soon as possible.
You might think I’d use a different browser. But you should know that it will affect all “Chromium” browsers. For example, if you switch to another Chromium-based browser, such as Brave, you will experience the same problem.
